Shit Scheisse Merde

People said it could never be done. 40 Gigs of music on an iPod. Do you know how much music that is? Well, since I picked up 10 CDs for $20 this week, it's been done. By the way, thanks to campus radio, CJAM 91.5 for blowing out their CDs like that. I ended up picking up:

Lady Sovreign - Vertically Challenged EP
The American Analog Set - Set Free
Pearl Jam - Live at Benaroya Hall
Ladytron - Witching Hour
TV On The Radio - Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes
Royksopp - The Understanding
Controller.Controller - X-Amounts
Cuff The Duke - Cuff The Duke (w/ Cuff The Duke belt buckle)
The Deadly Snakes - Porcella
Sub Pop Sampler - Infecting The Galaxy One Planet At A Time
The Futureheads - Meantime (Single)

Pretty sweet for $20. Especially since a couple of those CDs cost more than that at your finer record establishments. That's assuming you can even find them at certain places.

Tomorrow night is the Engineers Without Borders wine and cheese. I couldn't figure out why they hoping to be done by 9:30 and hopefully cleaned up by 10:30. It's the overflow of Super Bowl tourists coming over the border for our Cuban Cigars and hookers. Supposedly Monday night was insane downtown. Busier than a normal Saturday. I'm afraid to go downtown, Americans running all over the place, full of beer and looking for sex. Good times here in the armpit of Canada.

Empire Polo Field

I can see it. Can you?

Now this year's lineup. Upon first seeing it, I was sort of disappointed, kind of underwhelmed. No decent headliner for Sahara on Saturday night, (Daft Punk has been added since), no sign of The Strokes, The White Stripes, Broken Social Scene or Death From Above 1979. All of which, I had heard some pretty strong rumours about. And whatever happened to the Smashing Pumpkins reunion. Coheed and Cambria?? WTF?

But looking at it now and taking it for who's actually there and the fact that Coheed and Cambria is no worse than Thrice who had a main stage spot last year, it's pretty good. This is who I'd love to see but obviously won't be able to see them all. And I'm disappointed in myself, for the lack of Sunday bands that I've even heard of.

Saturday, April 29th

Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, TV on the Radio, Ladytron, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Animal Collective, Devendra Banhart, She Wants Revenge, The Walkmen, The Juan Maclean, Imogen Heap, Lady Sovereign, Deerhoof, Eagles of Death Metal.

Sunday, April 30th

Tool, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party, Sleater-Kinney, Wolf Parade, The Go! Team, Metric, Art Brut, The Dears, Mates of State, The Subways, Youth Group, Giant Drag.

Now I just need to swing some money and maybe a car. I wish I had money.

P.S. I actually went over the 40 Gb limit. So something had to go, before the Tegan & Sara and the other jank that was sitting around, I dumped the Fantomas. So sue me. It ain't for me.

Fantomas? Delete Coldplay and Chemical Brothers before you delete that.

Wow, it's a LONG way around those polo grounds. Especially without a shirt and wearing flip flops and with dead snakes in the grass.
