Trans-Atlantic Drawl

Well, the summer eventually had to come to an end and I did like the extra month that I spent in Toronto. Four of five weekends ain't too shabby. But Thanksgiving has passed and it's time to start working again. Mid-terms are right around the corner and I feel as if I'm falling in to that fourth year trap where I just want to graduate without much concern for my marks. Not the best attitude but I just can't motivated right now to do anything when this is last place I want to be. A month here before I get to come back again for DFA1979/QOTSA/NIN/LOL!!!111 which will be awesome since a boatload of people I know will be there.

R.I.P. The Edge live from Whiskey Saigon/Joe. It was a good run and was my introduction to everything from the 80's that I love now. It's a shame you're being replaced by the Spice Girls and Ace of Base.

A Lasting Impact

To all the people who'll never know how they've helped me become a more complete and better person, thank you.

A recent discussion opened me eyes as to how foolish I must have been in the past. Certain people who I had blown off then as fools, I wish I could I apologize to now, knowing that in retrospect they were 100% right.

Sometimes we all need to shut up and listen. Take our medicine and realize we don't know it all. Easier to say than to do, unfortunately.

Thanks.

Sports Thoughts

Hockey begins on Wednesday and I still believe that Leafs are going to finish between 7th and 10th in the East with around 82 points. There are two many question marks for them to be consistent, the main one is Belfour's health. As bad as they may be, at least the play of Stajan and Steen and the other young'uns will be fun.

Lousy 49ers. If you had just covered yesterday, I would've been $50 richer. 14-0 lead and you blow it. Nailed the Chargers, Giants, and Saints. Along the lines with the 49ers, the thought that Toronto will be able to support a NFL franchise is stupid. i.e. Renovating the Skydome and selling it out every week. Which they'll have to do since 60,000 seats is a small NFL stadium. The NFL has its strongest support in the younger generation. The CFL is still very strong with the older generation which is who'll be deciding on how to spend their disposable income. Similar to the Raptors who are huge among the 13-25 year olds, people who are in that age range don't have to income to be able to go to games more than once or twice a year. I don't see the NFL ever having a Canadian franchise. For better or for worse.

Another interesting season for the Jays. They'll be making the playoffs in 2007 as both the Sox and Yankees will eventually crash from killing each other these last few years.

Raptors suck.
